StowTown Records was well-represented at this year’s Singing News Fan Awards which took place at the National Quartet Convention at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, TN. Triumphant Quartet and The Collingsworth Family were honored with multiple wins in various categories for this, the 50th year of the Singing News Fan Awards.
Triumphant Quartet led with four wins, including Favorite Traditional Male Quartet (11th year in a row), Favorite Song for “Even Me” (4th year in a row) and Favorite Bass Singer for Eric Bennett (12th year in a row). And for the second year in a row, they were named Favorite Artist. “Thank you to the Singing News Fan Awards voters,” wrote Scotty Inman, the group’s lead vocalist who was also one of the show’s co-hosts. “We are humbled and very grateful for you, our friends, who continue to support and bless our ministry year after year. We can’t say ‘Thank You’ enough.”
The Collingsworth Family was honored as Favorite Mixed Group (for the 8th year in a row), Kim Collingsworth took home the award for Favorite Musician and their project, Mercy & Love, was dubbed Favorite Album of the Year. Kim Collingsworth shared an important perspective at the awards program, Kim Collingsworth shared an important perspective at the awards program, “Our music reaches places we cannot physically go. When my niece ran away from a rehab facility and finally decided it was time to turn her life around, she was given a ride by a family who happened to be playing our music. The irony of her family being on that CD Player in that car was not lost on her that night. But the song that she clung to as she turned her life around was ‘Chain Breaker’. She knew the One who broke chains, found her when she was lost, took away her pain and saved her. Thank God for the power of the music we all create and share!”
The Singing News Fan Awards are unique as they are decided by fans. StowTown co-owner and CEO Landon Beene reflected, "It’s an honor for our company and our artists to be recognized by fans for the quality of our work and the dedication we have for this genre. We strive to produce and promote the best in gospel music, and we all appreciate the positive response from the fans.”
