Nashville, TN (September 8, 2017) - StowTown Records is celebrating two #1 singles for October. Triumphant claimed the top spot on the Singing News Southern Gospel chart, while Southern Raised claimed the top spot on the Bluegrass chart.
Triumphant’s song “Chain Breaker” is the first release from their Thankful project, which released earlier this year. After entering the charts in June, the song shot up the Southern Gospel chart over the summer. News that it is number one for October came in last week. Triumphant’s David Sutton expressed how this song has encouraged fans, “Since singing ‘Chain Breaker’ night after night, people are sharing with us how much the song has encouraged them and given them hope. We serve a risen Savior who can break the chains of past sins or any sin we will ever face. Jesus Christ is the ultimate chain breaker!”
StowTown Records’ Director of Music Promotions, Kim Pennington, echoed these sentiments. “When 'Chain Breaker' released in March, DJs immediately reported heavy airplay due to positive listener feedback, and those reports never stopped coming in. Multiple social media posts confirmed radio feedback, as fans across the country commented on the song's ability to impact lives across generational lines.”
Meanwhile, label mate Southern Raised is celebrating their first #1 Bluegrass song, “Instead.” From the project Another World, this song was penned by group member Emily Reith and veteran songwriters Wayne Haun and Jeff Bumgardner, and steadily climbed up the chart after its release in March. “‘Instead’ and its straightforward message about Christ's substitute payment for our sins on the cross resonated with listeners,” Pennington stated. “We received strong, positive feedback on that song from DJs and are grateful they believed in it just as much as we did.”
Southern Raised member Lindsay Reith exclaimed, “We are exceedingly grateful to God for blessing this song! It thrills our hearts to see it ministering to lives, as we realize that God does not give us what we deserve, but ‘Instead,’ mercy and grace. Thank you to radio for supporting our music. This song is extra special as our own Emily co-wrote this number for the new project! We appreciate all for the love and support!”
Kim feels blessed to have such great artists and songs on the StowTown label. “It is our privilege to work with Triumphant Quartet and Southern Raised, two talented groups who have the ability to fulfill this label’s goal of producing quality Christian music.”
